It’s too easy to find examples of fund raising strategies that don’t work or which provide diminishing returns but I won’t go there. As Non-profit Fundraising Consultants we like to concentrate on the positives; what’s working now!

Ok, the first thing I want to talk about is how organisations, whether they are Local, State or National can get their message out and get it seen by the most people exactly when they need that to happen.

Now we actually have a number of strategies for doing that but in this case I want to talk about the number one place where people look every day. If you need to find something, where do you look?

Of course, Google!

But everyone knows that unless you are on the first page of Google you may as well not exist. Very few people ever venture as far as page 2 and page three onwards gets even less visitors. So with only 10 spots on the first page and a ton of competition for those spots, how difficult is it to get one of the coveted 10 spots on the first page of Google?

We can get one in minutes or sometimes it takes a few hours. We call that our MBT plan. MBT stands for “Must Be There”. It is specifically designed for promoting events such as a fundraising launch or urgent appeal.

MBT projects typically stay on page 1 of Google for Days but sometimes last longer. However, if you absolutely need to be there for longer we have a weekly plan (MBTC) that just repeats the strategy.

How to Increase Non Profit Fundraising

The additional benefit of the MBTC plan (C stands for cumulative) is that the cumulative effect of promoting your event weekly, can be that the more we promote it, the stickier it gets and it could stay on the first page of Google for much longer, and I mean, it could be up there for years.

Of course if that “announcement” is on your website then it will definitely add to your authority ranking and thus help raise the profile of the whole website and its long term rank in Google (Bing and Yahoo).

However, we have a long term plan for websites to help get them on the first page of Google and stay there, we call it MBTP (P stands for Permanent).
